Faiveley will equip a first order of 204 trams, with optional orders expected for a further 410 trams. This order is a major breakthrough reinforcing Faiveley's presence in the North American market.
The brake system is a traditional Light Rail Vehicle brake system including electronic control, hydraulic power units and hydraulic calipers. Discs and magnetic track brakes will also be supplied. The hydraulic brake components will be manufactured in North America.
Faiveley will also provide the complete door system (4 doors per tram) including a ramp access for diabled passengers. Doors are single and double sliding plug doors electrically powered.
The cab and saloon Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Units will also be fully manufactured in North America.
Part of the equipment will be delivered to the Bombardier Transport factory in Ontario between end December 2010 and end January 2011, deliveries for the first 204 trains will take place in 2014-2015.
